The Moon in your 12th house

The twelfth house is the hidden: rest, retreat, solitude, hospitals and prisons in the old lists, the things behind the scenes, and the endings that come just before the next beginning in the first house.

The Moon here is quiet. Finish what is nearly finished, clear what is done, rest, dream, keep the day private. Starting anything new now tends to fizzle; the energy is for closing a cycle. Two days later the Moon crosses your rising sign and the new month begins.

The private review, the quiet work, closing the books, the backlog nobody sees, the rest that keeps the next month possible. Do not launch, do not announce, do not start. If the business runs you ragged, these are the two days to notice it.

Whole sign houses: your rising sign is your 1st house and each sign after it is the next. Find your rising sign in the left column; the right column is your 12th house, and the Moon is in it whenever the Moon is in that sign. Each link opens the wheel with your sign chosen.

The meanings follow the classical lists: Vettius Valens, Anthologies (2nd century), and Firmicus Maternus, Mathesis (4th century), as summarised in Chris Brennan, Hellenistic Astrology (2017). Whole sign houses are the oldest house system: the rising sign is the 1st house and each following sign is the next house.
